The scholarship amount is $5,000 and it is awarded each year to a various number of recipients.
That number is determined annually, depending on the number of applicants and their qualities.
Who's eligible?
When taking into consideration the applying for certain scholarship, students of the wonder whether they are eligible or not.
The ABA Diversity Scholarship is open to candidates who must have completed their first year of college at an accredited university and must have a declared major or course of study relevant to the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.
Furthermore, they must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA and they need to be either a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student at an accredited University.
You must demonstrate your diversity based on your nationality, minorities, age, race, or ethnicity to evaluators.
If you consider yourself eligible by meeting all the above-mentioned requirements, then you are highly encouraged to submit the application for admission.
How to Apply
The application process requires that all applicants write a 500-word essay in which they will be speaking about the role they hope to play in advancing the future of the transportation, motorcoach, travel, and tourism/hospitality industry.
The selection criteria are determined by the committee of educators.
After the application process is finished, all the applications will be reviewed and the ranking and choosing of the winners will be made.
The winners will be those who showed the highest level of academic achievement, great character, leadership qualities, financial need, and commitment to advancing the transportation, travel, and tourism industry.
Applicants affiliated with ABA-member companies will receive additional consideration.
