ABHMS Scholarship is granted to people belonging to Baptist church interested in achieving a higher education but are not able to provide enough money for the studies.
Scholarship funds can be renewed for no more than 4 years for undergraduates and 3 years for graduates.
The funds for these awards that may vary in the amount are donated by the wealthy individuals, churches and organizations which want to improve the education in the United States and Puerto Rico.

American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) is an organization which provides financial support to American Baptist students who want to improve their knowledge by enrolling in university.
They have created the American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ Financial Aid Program which is there to offer scholarships, and the awards are available to students who enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and seminary programs.
There are sixteen colleges and universities and 10 seminaries and theological schools which are related to American Baptist Churches in the USA and where students can enroll so as to get the awards and some of them are:
- Franklin College
- Linfield College
- University of Sioux Falls
- Virginia Union University, among many others.
Who's eligible?
If you are interested in applying for American Baptist Home Mission Societies Scholarship, there are certain requirements that you must fulfill.
You need to:
- be an active member in an American Baptist church
- enroll at an accredited four year university, college or graduate program located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
- have the minimum GPA of 2.75
- be the resident of the United States or Puerto Rico.
However, in case you want to get the specialized scholarships, there might be more additional requirements to fulfill.
