The American Advertising Federation-New Mexico (AAF-NM) Scholarship Fund has the aim to support deserving men and women who intend to enter the advertising profession through the annual scholarships.
The number of recipients varies, but usually, one to two awards up to $1,400 are given annually.
Just like any other scholarship, there are certain requirements that have to be met so as to be accepted as a possible winner.
The criteria and guidelines for this award are that the applicant must be a New Mexico resident enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student in his or her junior or senior year or a New Mexico resident enrolled as a graduate student.
He/she has to be attending a New Mexico four-year nonprofit or public educational institution and the areas of study which are accepted are:
Graphic design, Fine art, Photography, or Illustration while maintaining a career focus in advertising or public relations.
Furthermore, the applicant has to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, maintaining a marketing internship.
If you happen to be the lucky recipient, you must have at least one remaining semester/quarter to complete your degree from the time the scholarship is awarded.
In case you do not meet the above-mentioned requirements, you are suggested not to waste your time applying, as your application will not be taken into consideration.
There are some attachments that have to be provided so that your application is accepted.
You will need to submit a personal essay in which you will speak about your career goals and what steps you will take to position yourself for a successful career in your chosen field.
Furthermore, you need to provide a current resume or vita, an official transcript and one reference letter from a current academic teacher or counselor.
