The ARRL Charles Clarke Cordle Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship that is aimed at amateur radio operators who are in need of financial support.

Full Description

Here are some general scholarship application guidelines:

The scholarship is awarded for the academic year following the application deadline.

Transcripts must cover your entire high school career to date and, if in college, must include all semesters for which grades have been awarded

Do not apply for the ARRL Charles Clarke Cordle Memorial Scholarship is you are not eligible.

The amount of the award is $1,000 and only one recipient is selected annually.

Who's eligible?

Not every radio amateur is eligible to apply for it.

Applicants must possess an active Amateur Radio License Class as well as be residents of Georgia or Alabama.

Furthermore, they must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and also be enrolled at an accredited institution in Georgia or Alabama.

Preference will be given to students of electronics, communications, or related fields.

This award is both for international and U.S. students.

How to Apply

Applicants must forward a copy of their academic transcript(s) from their most recently completed school year once the ARRL Scholarship Program application process opens.

The ARRL Foundation Scholarship Program application procedure starts on September 1st and the deadline for submitting applications is December 31.

You must apply for it online and the fillable application forms are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website.

If you completed an on-line application, you must also forward a pdf of your academic transcript from your most recently completed school year to foundation@arrl.org by January 13th.

While filling out the application form, students are required to provide personal information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference.

Applications without transcripts will not be taken into consideration as they will be considered incomplete.

The candidates are suggested to present their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application to get this award.

The ARRL Foundation Scholarship Committee will review all applications for eligibility and award decisions and select the scholarship recipients who will be notified in May by USPS mail and email.
