ACWA is the organization related to the water policy in California and by analyzing of the issues concerned with the protection of water it tries hard to help Californians get quality water supply.
The Association of California Water Agencies started offering scholarships since 1961.
Their main aim was to motivate students eager to help saving the California’s water quality.

Full Description
ACWA scholarship is designed for people who care about the environment and think about providing a new era of water management and water supply portfolio for the future.
It is good to know that scholarship funds are not given to the winning student directly, but are rather disbursed to the appropriate Financial Aid Office.
The received $3,500 can be used for student’s tuition and educational fees and cannot be used for any other purposes.
Who's eligible?
There are certain eligibility requirements that have to be fulfilled before you apply for this scholarship, as otherwise, your application will not be considered.
First, you have be a California resident at the time of application and attend an accredited, University of California or California State University.
Furthermore, you need to be pursuing an undergraduate degree in a water resources-related field related to engineering, agricultural and/or urban water supply, environmental studies, or public administration and be at least a junior.
You will have to commit to full-time enrollment for the entire academic year and submit two letters of recommendation from a college professor or employer.
Official transcripts for each college have to be attached with your application, as well as a 800-word essay responding to specific prompt.
How to Apply
Once you find out that you meet all the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the scholarship online, and submit applications by March 31.
Scholarship winners will be determined according to their scholastic achievement, motivation to the vocation of water resources-related management, the quality of essay and commitment to full-time enrollment for the entire academic year.
