Having paid for your higher education is challenging enough for any students, so the Better Brothers LA foundation decided to assist Black LGBTQ youth.
The support is given to those who have been admitted to or are attending an accredited degree, licensing or vocational program anywhere in the country.

Scholarship funds can only be used for tuition or school-related purchases, such as textbooks and other study materials.
The money cannot be used for any other purposes.
The award amount ranges from $500 to $1,500 and will be presented to recipients during the annual Truth Awards.
The committee will determine the winners, as the most deserving candidates, and this scholarship will be awarded in March during the Annual Truth Awards Ceremony.
Who's eligible?
If you are interested in this award, you probably want to know who is eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Meeting these requirements is the only way of being accepted as a possible scholarship recipient.
To be eligible to apply, an applicant must identify as a Black/African-American LGBTQ individual.
Then, he/she has to be admitted to or currently enrolled in a degree or license/vocational program at an accredited higher education institution and at the same time possess a minimum 2.75 Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale.
You do not have to be a United States Citizen to apply for the scholarship, but you must be legally able to enroll in a college or license/vocational program and provide proof of enrollment.
If you consider yourself eligible, you are highly encouraged to apply as the possibility of winning this scholarship is high.

Those eligible students should know that this Scholarship application process opens on November 16th and closes on February 1st.
Paper applications are not accepted.

The application process requires that you submit some additional documentation, such as:
- High school transcript.
- A letter of recommendation from a counselor, teacher or community organization e-mailed to (scholarship@betterbrothersla.com) directly from writer and include applicant’s name.
If you happen to be the lucky finalist, you will be asked to participate in a video interview as part of the selection process.
