The Bill H. James Scholarship For Aspiring African-American Engineers is offered thanks to the Bill H. James Foundation.
The foundation’s main aim is to emphasize and support the diversity in the engineering field and to support the education of deserving African-American students.
Two scholarships will be awarded annually; one each to an undergraduate and a graduate student.

The Bill H. James Foundation believes that by financially supporting aspiring African American engineering students they will invest in the future of engineering and encourage more students to start their education in this field.
Since the moment the first scholarship was awarded, the lives of those who have benefited from our support have changed a lot.
Who's eligible?
Consideration for this award is available to students who meet the following criteria and you are suggested not to apply if one of these is not fulfilled:
You must be an African-American/Black (non-Hispanic) U.S. citizen who is pursuing a degree or course of study in an engineering program at an accredited four-year college or university in California.
You must be entering the junior or senior year and must have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
In case you do not meet these criteria, you are suggested not to waste your time applying as the award is available only to the eligible applicants.
How to Apply
Once the application process starts, you will be able to find the fillable application form on the scholarship provider’s official website.
You will get all the necessary information there and you will be required to meet all the admission requirements and submit all the obligatory documentation.
The lucky recipient will be determined based on the materials submitted and you are suggested to provide accurate information related to your personal and education details.
The application deadline is April 30, and all the application material has to be submitted by that moment.
YIt is your responsibility that all documents are sent, being that late and incomplete applications will be rejected and the applicant will not be allowed to submit the documents that are missing.
