The BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship is offered every year and it is a great competition which is open to rising jazz stars enrolled at colleges and universities nationwide.
The main aim of the BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship is to support the artistic excellence of jazz pioneers while providing them with financial aid which will help them achieve higher education goals.

The selection of the winner will be based on evidence of talent and potential as a jazz performer and composer.
The scholarship foundation offers the $5,000 award and it is presented at BMI’s annual celebration of NEA Jazz Masters Fellows.
Judges are usually jazz legends, such as Ahmad Jamal, Jack DeJohnette, Jimmy Heath, and Ron Carter.
Who's eligible?
Just as with any other scholarship, not everyone is allowed to apply and if a person does not meet the eligibility requirements he/she should not waste time applying, as the application will be rejected.
The eligible applicant must be an undergraduate student, a graduate student or a postgraduate student who is attending a university, a four-year college, two-year college or a vocational-tech school.
He/she must be at least 17 years old, but not older than 24 years old.
Both full-time and part-time students are encouraged to apply.
Former winners of the BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship are not eligible to apply.

The BMI Foundation is accepting online applications which can be found on the scholarship provider’s official website.
You are supposed to complete it with accurate and honest answers and submit it prior to the deadline, which is usually the same as last year.
