The Charlotte Pride Scholarship amount is $2,500 which should be used to cover your tuition, fees, on-campus housing or books at an accredited non-profit academic institution.

What you need to have in mind that this scholarship provider places greater emphasis on your passion for education and demonstrated service to the LGBTQ community or a desire to serve the LGBTQ community than your educational achievements.
The number of recipients will depend on applicant volume and qualifications.
Who's eligible?
So as to be accepted as a possible scholarship recipient, the applicant must fulfill the requirements:
He/she must be a high school senior or college student from the Charlotte metro area with a GPA of 2.8 or above on a 4.0 scale.
The applicant has to be an LGBTQ or ally student who has demonstrated service to the LGBTQ community or strong desire to serve the LGBTQ community.
It is obligatory that he/she has taken either the SAT or ACT and received the results.
This is a need-based scholarship, so the applicant has to demonstrate financial need.
Furthermore, he/she needs to be enrolled or intending to enroll at an accredited two or four-year college in North or South Carolina.
It is important to know that preference will be given to full-time students and to part-time students in their junior or senior years of college.
Applicants must be from one of the following counties: Mecklenburg, York, Union, Gaston, Cabarrus, Iredell, Rowan, Cleveland, Lancaster, Lincoln, Stanly, Chester, Catawba, Chesterfield, Alexander, or Anson.
How to Apply
You are supposed to complete the application and submit it before June 17th as late applications will not be accepted.
The application process starts on May 9th and finishes on June 17th.
You must submit your application online on the scholarship provider’s official webpage and once the application is received, you will get a confirmation email.
The additional data that has to be provided is:
- high school/college GPA and transcripts
- SAT or ACT scores
- work history
- community involvements, and extracurricular activities and
- one essay of 500-800 words or one piece of the original artwork.
The Award notification date is June 21st and the applicants will be notified via email.
