The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB), through Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) provide support each year to eleven eligible applicants.
Full Description
The foundation awards eleven $2,500 scholarships with the aim to encourage students to continue their higher education and reach their goals even though they might struggle with financial difficulties.
The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB) Scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, an interest in a career in a dairy-related discipline, and demonstrated leadership.
Scholarship winners will receive a plaque and a check for the award amount.
Who's eligible?
The eligible applicants are undergraduate students enrolled in college/university programs that emphasize dairy.
The majors that are accepted are communications/public relations, journalism, marketing, business, economics, nutrition, food science, and Ag education.
A good thing to know is that the production-related fields such as Animal Science are not eligible for Dairy Management, Inc. Scholarship Program.
Ineligible applicants are suggested not to waste their time applying, as their application forms will be rejected.
How to Apply
The eligible candidates are supposed to complete an application form which is available on the scholarship provider’s website and submit an official transcript of all college courses.
Furthermore, they need to write a short statement in which they will describe their career aspirations, dairy-related activities, and work experiences.
First, the NDPRB Scholarship Committee composed of an external review panel and at least two Board members will review all the applications and select the most deserving candidates.
Then, the candidates selected by the Scholarship Committee will be reviewed by the NDPRB staff and the scholarships are then awarded.
The selection criteria are the following:
- Academic performance.
- Courses related to dairy.
- Apparent commitment to a career in dairy.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities
- Evidence of leadership ability.
Once you complete your application, you should submit it to the NDPRB c/o Nate Janssen, Dairy Management Inc., 10255 W. Higgins Road, Suite 900, Rosemont, IL 60018-5616 before April 26th when the application process ends.
Late applications will not be taken into consideration even though the applicant is eligible for Dairy Management, Inc. Scholarship Program.
