The Darius Quimby Memorial Scholarship has to offer two kinds of scholarships each year.
One of them is the Darius Quimby Scholarship for High School students who are children of currently serving or retired law enforcement officials and high school and college students who are pursuing a degree in the law enforcement field.
The scholarship is available thanks to the Operation Thank an Officer which is an officially registered 501(c)3 organization.
Full Description
The amazing award is one prize of $1,000 given each year to two most deserving students who can demonstrate financial need that they struggle with during their education while achieving excellent grades.
Who's eligible?
Eligible applicants for this scholarship are only current high school seniors who wish to pursue a degree in a law enforcement field following their high-school graduation.
Eligible applicants are also current law enforcement officials who are pursuing an advanced degree.
It is important to know the eligibility requirements, being that ineligible applicants are going to be rejected.
How to Apply
If you are a current high school senior planning on pursuing a degree in law enforcement after high school you should apply for this award, and that can be done by submitting an essay in which you will provide an answer to one of the following questions in 1000 words or less:
• Law enforcement officials demonstrate service above self, describe a time when you have demonstrated service above self and what it taught you.
• Why have you chosen a career in law enforcement and what are your goals?
You are also supposed to upload your transcripts as well as honors and awards, extracurricular and volunteer activities.
Make sure you gather all the documents from this application checklist, being that you are responsible that all files are received.
If one of them is missing, the applications will not be considered complete and you will be rejected even though you are eligible for the award.
