The Hutchinson Medical School Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Hutchinson.

The scholarship amount is $2,000 and only one award is given per year.
Previous applicants may reapply.
Who's eligible?
The eligible applicants are:
- College seniors who are accepted to medical school or currently enrolled full-time in an accredited medical school program.
- People who demonstrated personal motivation
- People who have qualities such as leadership, community involvement and concern for others
- Graduates of a high school in San Mateo County or Santa Clara County or have permanently resided in that area during high school.
- United States citizens.
How to Apply
The scholarship committee determines the Required Application Documents which each applicant has to submit so as to be considered an appropriate candidate for the award.
First, what you need to do is to fill in and submit the Apply SVCF application form which becomes available on the scholarship provider’s official website once the application process starts.
Then, you are required to submit the following application documents for the Hutchinson Medical School Scholarship.
Medical Field-Related Personal Statement of 500-850 words in which you will describe your interest in the medical field, your career plans, and the areas of medicine that are of particular interest to you.
You should state the reasons why you believe you are a good candidate for this scholarship.
Next, you will have to provide Financial Need Documentation in a PDF format, even though the financial need is not a primary consideration of the Hutchinson Medical School Scholarship.
Furthermore, two Letters of Recommendation which are signed and dated are mandatory.
You must obtain recommendations from both:
A teacher or academic advisor on school letterhead; and
A volunteer or work supervisor, community leader or personal acquaintance.
Letters of recommendation can be submitted by uploading them yourself to your Apply SVCF application or your recommenders can submit the letters themselves.
Once you state the name and email address of your two recommenders in your application, the scholarship committee will email your recommenders and request that they submit their letters to them directly.
Last, but not least, you must submit your Official Transcripts of Grades.
