Since 2001 when this foundation was opened, over 186 students have completed the program.
The main goal of the EPP Undergraduate Scholars Program is to increase the number of students in targeted academic fields integral to NOAA’s mission.

The preference will be given to students who have completed their sophomore year, attending minority-serving institutions (MSIs), and have recently declared a major in atmospheric, oceanic, or environmental disciplines.
When it comes to some information related to this scholarship program, you should know that students receive awards valued at up to $45,000 during their junior and senior years.
Student scholarship recipients attend a two-week orientation at NOAA in Silver Spring, MD, and begin their first summer internship in early June.
Even ten recipients will be given this amazing award and you should try your luck.
Who's eligible?
In case you are interested in this scholarship, you will have to meet some eligibility criteria and only then you will be considered an appropriate candidate.
First, applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals who are currently enrolled as a full-time 2nd-year student in a four-year academic program or transferring from a two-year to a four-year institution or a 3rd-year student in a five-year program.
Then, the eligible applicant is the one studying a discipline related to NOAA’s programs and mission at an accredited minority-serving institution.
Last, but not least, you must earn and maintain a minimum 3.2-grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Minority Serving Institutions whose students are eligible for the scholarship are Hispanic Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Alaskan-Native Serving Institutions, and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions.
Those who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be taken into consideration and should not waste their time applying.

Now that you are familiar with the requirements and want to apply for an EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship, you should visit the NOAA undergraduate scholarship website and find the application form which is available from September through January when the application process finishes.
