The Foundation for Global Sports Development has created and is awarding the Exceptional Youth Scholarship every year with the aim to empower youth through education.
They have realized the importance of supporting younger generations, especially those who deserve being helped through exceptional academic achievements.
The Exceptional Youth Scholarship is designed for young people who demonstrated remarkable conduct through community service efforts, volunteerism and mentor-ship activities.
Above all these, they managed to achieve outstanding academic performance and rightfully deserve this award.
Full Description
Ten high school seniors will be the lucky recipients of this scholarship and they will get $5,000 each.
This amount cannot be used for any purpose, but has to be applied towards cost of attendance including tuition, housing, books and other on-campus related expenses at accredited, four-year colleges and universities in the United States.
Who's eligible?
There are certain eligibility requirements that you need to fulfill in order to be accepted as a possible scholarship recipient.
The following has to be met:
The eligible applicant must be a high school senior at the time of application with the minimum GPA 3.0.
He/she must have participated in some form of community service, volunteerism, or mentorship activities.
The applicant has to be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
If you feet the criteria, you are highly encouraged to apply for the award and become one of the possible winners.
How to Apply
The Foundation for Global Sports Development opens each year the application round for the Exceptional Youth Scholarship and determines the application guidelines and process.
The Foundation for Global Sports Development does its best to support initiatives that promote fair play, education, and the benefits of abuse-free sport for youth.
To be applying for the scholarship you may sign in yourself and provide the following documentation:
- Community service description and sign off form
- Letter of recommendation form
- Description of personal statement required
- List of extracurricular activities, hobbies, and interests
- List of the colleges and/or universities to which you have applied, or will apply
- Description of financial need
- Transcript displaying a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Personal Statement in 500 words or less.
