Full Description

This is a scholarship which entails numerous requirements that has to be fulfilled so as to be  eligible for it.

Pay attention that students who are enrolled or are applying to Doctor of Ministry programs should not apply for this scholarship, as they will be considered ineligible.

Who's eligible?

First and foremost, the applicant has to be of African descent who is already in a Th.D. or Ph.D. program in one of religious, theological or biblical studies and it is important that he/she has finished with coursework by the beginning of the current school year, that is September 1, 2024.

Furthermore, the applicants must be able to write during the year if they are on their dissertation stage, or past the coursework stage if they are on the pre-dissertation stage.

The only way of reaching the dissertation stage is that the committee approves your dissertation research proposal and writing plan.

The student will get the approval to proceed before submission of an application.

One more requirement is that applicants must be enrolled in an accredited academic institution in the U.S. or Canada and must be permanent residents of United States of America or Canada.

How to Apply

Before you complete your application form, it is advisable to read the FTE Doctoral Fellowship General Instructions which can be found on the official website, so as to be sure that you are eligible and to know how the applications form should be filled out.

The General Instructions are designed so as to show what must be included within your application and if you find yourself eligible, you will receive a link to the FTE Doctoral Fellowship Application with all the material that is necessary for a successful application process.

The deadline is February 1, 2024 and the financial support for doctoral students of African descent is only for those who have completed the course work stage of their Ph.D. or Th.D. program in religion, theological or biblical studies.
