Foreclosure is the largest U.S. online provider of distressed properties. Their website contains over 1.8 million foreclosure, preforeclosure, bankruptcy and tax lien listings across U.S., available to customers and business partners in an easy and accessible format.
They offer annually five scholarships (one of $5000 and four of $1000) to talented students currently enrolled or about to enroll in college, interested in real estate and able to provide creative ideas and solution regarding the country’s most pressing issues.
In order to apply, candidates should write an 800-2000 words essay suggesting how housing disasters such as the one caused by the recent economic crisis can be avoided in the future. In their essays, they are required to provide factual references for supporting their arguments.
The deadline for the application is December 16, 2024, 11:59 p.m. ET.
Who's eligible?
In order to be eligible to apply for this scholarship, candidates must be either currently enrolled in a college or Freshmen beginning their studies in the Fall semester, 2024 (the latter should already have a student ID for being eligible.)
Graduate students, law students or high-school students are NOT eligible to apply.
How to Apply
No later than December 16, 2024, candidates must submit an 800-2000 words essay describing what measures they would take in order to avoid another housing disaster as that engendered by the recent economic crisis and what they would do to help preserving homeownership and improve the national economy. In addition to the essay, applicants should fill the application form on the Foreclosure’s website, providing the following information:
