The Frances M. Dunn Memorial Scholarship is funded and supported by the children of Frances Dunn.
The future scholarship winner will get a minimum award of $500 per year.
The Frances M. Dunn Memorial Scholarship is an annual award for full-time undergraduate students who are single mothers enrolled at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and are majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies.

The committee, which will determine the most deserving candidate, consists of Professors Antonen, Lee and Shirley.
They will evaluate candidates for the scholarship and according to the determined criteria select the winner.
The scholarship is non-renewable and its timeline, number of awards, and award amount may vary each year, so it is important to follow the scholarship website’s updates.
Who's eligible?
The scholarship is available to a deserving non-traditional single mother in the IS program who must be a sophomore, junior, or senior.
She must also have earned at least a 2.5 GPA.
If you wish to get this award you must be a student in good academic standing.
Only eligible applicants will be considered for the award, so do not waste your time applying if you are ineligible.

Once you determine your eligibility and wish to apply for this award, you should submit a letter of application and a resume to the committee.
It is very significant that all the interested applicants make sure they have read the Applications Instructions and Admissions Requirements prior to applying.
The application process consists of submitting the materials that are obligatory, so as to be accepted as a possible winner.
Applications are not considered complete until all required documents are received.
What you need to submit are High School Transcript(s) which are necessary so as to show completion of high school through your junior year and College Transcript(s) which must be mailed directly from the college records office to the School of Mines.
Furthermore, you are supposed to submit your official report of ACT and/or SAT scores.
