The GMiS Scholarahip is designed so as to support Hispanic graduating high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate students.

However, they need to be pursuing a science, technology, engineering, math or health-related degree at an accredited college/university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.

The scholarship amount ranges from $500 to $10,000. and it is awarded every year, meaning that students must apply each year for it.

Who's eligible?

This amazing scholarship is aimed at any graduating high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student, from a traditionally underserved or underrepresented group in science, technology, engineering, math or health, but there are still some eligibility requirements that have to be met so as to be eligible for it.

Firstly, you will have to demonstrate your excellent academic achievements, leadership and campus/community activities, then, you must be pursuing a science, technology, engineering or math degree and have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Furthermore, you need to be of Hispanic descent and/or must significantly demonstrate leadership or service within the underserved community.

The requirement for the recipients is that they have to be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited 2-yr or 4-yr college/university in the U.S.

How to Apply

The GMiS Scholarship Application requires that the applicant attach and submit additional materials, so as to be eligible for this award.

Besides the application which has to be completed, the applicant is supposed to send personal statement addressing a topic determined by Great Minds in STEM, a resume, a Peer Letter of Recommendation which should be written by a friend, classmate, lab partner, roommate, teammate and a Faculty Letter of Recommendation from a faculty, teacher, mentor, advisor, counselor, principal, dean, or MEP Director.

Official Transcript with their college or high school educational achievements which should prove the applicants cumulative GPA based on a 4.0 scale and a self-photo is also required.

The application is done online and should be submitted before April 1.

Once the application is submitted, you will get the verifying receipt of your application proving that you have submitted it successfully.

The recipients will be informed about the award by email, in August.
