Howard P. & Magdalen K. Breitenbach Scholarship is a need based scholarship which is available thanks to generous donors and the foundation has awarded a huge sum of money to high school seniors, undergraduate students and graduate students over the years.
Who's eligible?
Just as any other scholarship, this foundation requires certain eligibility requirements to be met so as to be able to get the award.
The eligible applicant must graduate from a public or private high school in Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry or Lee County.
He/she must be either a former service member of the U.S. Navy or a child/grandchild of a U.S. Navy Service Member.
The applicant must provide proof of service in the Navy and document financial need.
How to Apply
In order that the system determines whether you are eligible for the scholarship, prior to the actual filling out of the online application form, you will need to answer the Prequalifying Questions.
That way the system will filter out the scholarship(s) you are eligible for.
Once this is done, you can select the scholarship(s) that you wish to send your application to.
You will be asked to create a password while your email address will be your username.
Prior to applying for this scholarship, you will need to prepare documentation, as you need to fulfill the Federal Student Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) which opens for all individuals who are pursuing postsecondary education in October.
The Student Aid Report (SAR) is required for all scholarships as well as the official or unofficial transcript.
Make sure that the fall grades are included in the transcript that you upload into your scholarship application.
Furthermore, you will need to provide SAT and/or ACT test scores and at least one Reference Letter.
The Reference Letter should be from a person who does not belong to his/her family and can attest to the applicant’s character.
The scholarship application process starts on December 17th and ends up on February 24th.
