Who's eligible?
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you have to meet certain criteria.
Students must be pursuing an ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree within a College of Engineering (majors such as engineering, computer science, engineering technology, or others) at an Ohio institution.
They must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 2.7, great academic ability, school or community service, and recommendations.
How to Apply
The application process is done online and you should fill out the Community Foundation Scholarship application form.
During the application process you will be asked to provide the information by answering the following questions:
In what school district do you live?
In what county do you live?
What is your cumulative grade point average?
You will have to attach your high school and/or college transcript.
High school students are able to electronically request their transcript from their guidance office from within the online scholarship application.
What you need to provide is a list of your school and community service activities and one to three letters of recommendation, which can also be electronically requested from within the application.
Additionally, you have to submit your EFC (Expected Family Contribution) from the FAFSA form.
Your college cost of attendance information is available in the Admissions or Financial Aid sections of your college’s website and you will have to provide it as well.
All this is obligatory, as one application is enough for all the scholarships awarded by this foundation, and it will match you with scholarships for which you may be eligible.
You have three options to submit a letter of recommendation:
- You can attach a letter to your application by uploading it.
- You or your recommender can mail, email or deliver a letter to the Community Foundation by the deadline.
- You can enter a recommender’s email address and the online application system will automatically send an email requesting a letter of recommendation.
