The scholarship was named after Kelly Somey who was a former high school art teacher.
She inspired the Union’s founder to seek further improvement after graduation driven by creativity and also devoted her life to guide her students to develop their talents and pursue careers in creative fields.
That is the reason why the applicant in his/her essay should speak about the teachers who help them in their development.
The Kelly Somey Digital Marketing Scholarship has the aim to financially support high school seniors who can show a passion for creativity and an interest in pursuing a career in digital marketing.
Full Description
The committee will review all applications and select only one recipient for the $1,000 scholarship.
A scholarship worth $1,000 can be used only for the recipient’s college expenses.
Both the U.S. and other nationalities are welcome to apply.
Who's eligible?
Just like any other scholarship, the Kelly Somey Digital Marketing Scholarship committee has determined certain scholarship Eligibility criteria that have to be met.
That way they made it easier to select the most deserving candidate.
To be eligible to receive this scholarship, you must be a high school senior in the U.S., who is interested in pursuing a creative career in the digital space.
Only those who are eligible should submit their application packages.
Otherwise, their applications will be rejected.
How to Apply
It is crucial to submit the documentation prior to the deadline on June 30th.
The application process consists of submitting a 300-500-word essay in which you will describe your passion for creativity, your goals and any teachers or mentors who have helped you along the way.
This essay should be submitted to scholarship@union.co with Digital Marketing Scholarship in the subject line.
Once the application process starts, the applications become available on the Union website and the only way of applying is to complete the online form in which you will be asked some personal and educational questions.
Make sure your answers are honest and accurate.
Only the applications received before the deadline on June 30th will be taken into consideration.
