This scholarship is one of the FFA Foundation scholarships which is established in memory of Mike Hopper.
When it comes to the FFA Foundation scholarships, oth FFA members and non-FFA members are eligible for them.
Mike was a FFA chapter officer, attaining his American Farmer degree, well known for his great leadership qualities and determination to help the improvement of the condition in which agriculture is in our communities.
By helping students with a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals related to agriculture, the foundation is helping the advancement of the future.

The awarded amount is $1000 to two applicants who are the most eligible according to the sponsor criteria.
Before applying, all applicants should know that the eligibility criteria have to be met and if they do not fulfill it, they should not apply for the scholarship.
The eligible applicant has to plan attending post secondary education in U.S. which is related to agriculture field.
Who's eligible?
The eligible applicant must be a high school senior or college student who is trying to achieve a two-year or four-year degree in any major related to agriculture.
The applicant has to be less than 23 years of age and he/she has to be a current FFA member.
Furthermore, he/she has to be a resident of Umatilla County, Oregon and has minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Due to the fact that financial status of applicant will play an important role when determining the recipient, the financial analysis section of application is important to be filled out.
