The Murray Wise Associates Foundation was established with the aim to assist students who can make a difference in agriculture and that is the reason why it awards annual scholarships to deserving students.
The application process starts in January and lasts till the deadline set by the MWA Foundation on March 32st.
The scholarship will support students who have the talent and drive to improve the agribusinesses by pursuing a college education.
The award amount might vary annually but it is never less than $1,000 per academic year.
There is a possibility of gaining higher amounts if they are approved by the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
Who's eligible?
The first requirement that has to be fulfilled when applying for this scholarship is that the applicant must be a senior in high school accepted for enrollment at an accredited college, university, or community college where he/she will be pursuing a degree related to agriculture or agribusiness.
The scholarship is also available to students already enrolled in the above mentioned colleges, be he/she has to be a full time student who has completed at least 12 hours per semester to qualify for and maintain the scholarship.
Make sure whether you are eligible or not, as Dependents of the Members of the Board of Directors or the Executive Director of the Foundation are not eligible for this scholarship.
In order to be a qualified applicant, you will have to possess strong academic credentials, you will have to demonstrate leadership qualities and your reputation will also be assessed via references or direct inquiry.
The great thing is that the scholarship is renewable, but in order to qualify for the award renewal, the student must maintain a cumulative grade point average acceptable to the Board and submit periodic written reports of their progress.
How to Apply
The first thing that has to be done after you have determined that you are eligible for this award is submitting of a completed application.
The application form which has to be filled out with some personal information are available on the Murray Wise Associates (MWA) website and must be completed via the MWA online application system.
There, you will have to sign up with your email address and you will be asked to provide some additional qualifying documentation and all these should be sent before March 31st, when the application process closes.
If you happen to be the lucky one and become one of the Murray Wise Associates Scholarship winners, you will be notified of the award.
The winners are determined by the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
