The scholarships are created according to Dean Carlson’s idea.
He was a person who had an Iowa State Farmer degree and was always trying to help improve the status in which FFA members in northwest Iowa were.
Nowadays, the FFA Foundation is growing the next generation of leaders who will change the world of agriculture.
Full Description
The FFA foundation is preparing members for leadership and it is designed for high school seniors who are pursuing a four-year degree in any area of agriculture at the College of Agriculture or the College of Business at Iowa State University.
Who's eligible?
The eligible applicant must fulfill certain requirements so that its application is taken into consideration.
The eligibility criteria involve not only being a high school senior or college student pursuing a four-year degree in agriculture but also applicants have to show strong leadership skills, financial need and he/she has to be above 23 years of age who is actively attending classes.
Both FFA members and non-members are eligible for this scholarship and highly advised to apply.
The preference will be given to applicants from Lytton-Rockwell City FFA, Calhoun County FFA or members of counties bordering Calhoun, Iowa.
How to Apply
The way you can apply for this scholarship is via an application that is on the organization’s official website and can be easily completed.
The application process starts on November 15th.
As the application should be completed online, you will need to have an account open at the student’s Agricultural Career Network and the great thing is that by submitting only one application you will automatically be considered for various FFA Scholarships depending on your needs and eligibility.
Online applications with all the necessary documentation must be submitted by 11:59 p.m on February 6th.
If you happen to be a lucky recipient of this amazing award, you will be informed about it via email in the first week of May.
The funds will be given on August 1st.
Some of the scholarship awards offered by the National FFA Scholarship Program can be renewable for up to three additional years, so those students who have already won the scholarship are also advised to apply for a renewal.
