National Dairy Shrine is the organization which offers scholarships to only U.S. students who are attending schools, colleges or universities in the United States and are pursuing a major in dairy or other agricultural related fields.
National Dairy Shrine offers over $40,000 every year.
However, there is The Klussendorf / McKown scholarships, one of National Dairy Shrine scholarship which is sponsored by the Klussendorf Association, and it is also available to students from Canadian universities.

The NDS/Klussendorf/McKown Scholarship is available thanks to two sponsors and three $1500 awards are given by the Klussendorf’s Chris Kampf fund, while four $1500 awards are from the McKown Fund.
The NDS/Klussendorf/McKown Scholarship is based on the applicant’s activities, experience, interests in agriculture and future plans.
Who's eligible?
Prior to applying, it is important that you go through the qualification details.
Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be taken into consideration.
The same scholarship can be received only once and the recipients from the previous years are not eligible.
However, those who applied but did not get the award are encouraged to apply if they still meet the criteria.
People who are eligible to apply for this scholarship are students who are completing their first, second or third years at a 2-year or 4-year college or university in the United States or Canada.
They need to be majoring in dairy or agriculture related field, such as dairy science, animal science and agri-business.
Their future plans have to be related to the career in the dairy industry or agriculture.
How to Apply
The application process lasts from March 1st until April 15th and the official website offers all the instructions for applying.
You are supposed to download the NDS/Klussendorf/McKown Scholarship application form and type in your responses, then save the file as KLU.Last Name.First Name.doc.
You should attach an official transcript which is going to be viewed by the NDS Executive Director.
These documents should be emailed to info@dairyshrine.org, and if everything is done well, you will receive a confirmation email.
In the application form, there is a question related to your dairy cattle experiences and you will be asked to provide a “Top 10 List” of dairy related participation and other student-related activities.
