National Dairy Shrine offers over $40,000 every year through various scholarships and grants.
The Maurice E. Core Scholarship fund is created in honor of Maurice E. Core who was a longtime leader in the Jersey breed and National Dairy Shrine and the Executive Secretary of the American Jersey Cattle Breeders Association and Executive Director of the National Dairy Shrine.

NDS Maurice E. Core Scholarship is designed for dairy students which are considered our future leaders in this industry.
The number of awards given annually is dependent on number and quality of applicants, but it is usually 2 $1000 awards.
Who's eligible?
It is important that you go through the qualification details before you apply for the scholarship, due to the fact that applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be taken into consideration.
A student may receive the same scholarship or award only once and the recipients from the previous years are not eligible for it, while previous scholarship non-recipients are encouraged to apply if they still meet the criteria for that scholarship.
People who are eligible to apply for this scholarship are current freshman students at a four year college who are pursuing their major in a dairy/animal industry related field.
They have to be interested in working in the dairy industry in the future, as they will be asked to write about their future plans in the application process and that will be one of the determining factors when choosing the recipient.
Besides that, the scholarship is based on leadership abilities, volunteerism and activities.
Furthermore, the applicant has to be a good student with at least a cumulative 2.5 GPA .
How to Apply
The applications are accepted during the application process which lasts from March 1st until April 15th.
The instructions for applying for the Maurice E. Core Scholarship are the following.
You are supposed to download this application form and type in your responses, then save the file as Core.Last Name.First Name.doc.
You should attach two letters of recommendation from a faculty members as well as an official transcript which will be viewed by the NDS Executive Director.
These documents should be emailed to info@dairyshrine.org, and once the application is accepted, the applicants will receive a confirmation email.
