Pride Foundation is the organization whose aim is to help both people who express themselves as members of LGBTQ community and people who are their allies living across the Northwest.
The first scholarship was awarded in 1993 and since then more than $5 million has been given to 1,800 students in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
It was created by Brian M. Day who wanted to support gay men of color who were leaders in their communities, but who did not have enough financial assets for higher education.
So, people belonging to LGBTQ communities and allied students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply for it.
