Public Diplomacy Council Fellowship

The Public Diplomacy Council (PDC) has been offering an annual fellowship to an outstanding student in either the School of Communication or the School of International Service at American University (AU) in Washington, DC.

Full Description

The fellowship will not only provide recipients with financial support but they will get the chance to get experience in the field of public diplomacy as they will be working with accomplished members of the PDC.

Who's eligible?

Just like with any other scholarship, the Public Diplomacy Council Fellowship committee has determined which qualifications the applicants have to possess so as to be accepted as possible scholarship winners.

The Public Diplomacy Council is seeking a graduate fellow who will have the great knowledge of the field of public diplomacy and the background in website management.

He/she is supposed to have certain experience in event planning, digital media, online communications, and project development, as well as organizational and communication skills.

If you possess all these qualities, you should take a closer look at the eligibility requirements that you must also meet.

You need to be accepted to any master’s graduate program in AU’s School of Communication and enrolled full-time, 9 credits or more, or part-time, 3 credits or more.

Only those applicants who hold US citizenship are eligible to apply.

If you do not meet all the above-mentioned criteria, you are suggested not to submit the application as it will be rejected.

How to Apply

The application should be sent once the applicant is admitted to the appropriate degree program.

Then, an email will be sent from gradcomm@american.edu to the email address provided in the application and a link to an online form will be provided.

What you need to do is to complete the form and submit all the required documents in one PDF document.

The supplemental documentation includes a two or three page cover letter describing your interest and qualifications for the Public Diplomacy Council Fellowship, your resume, two letters of recommendation in which the recommenders will be addressing your professional qualifications and how you will benefit from the fellowship and a writing sample which will demonstrate your aptitude for the fellowship.
