The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s (RMEF) Wildlife Leadership Awards (WLA) scholarship program was established in 1991.
Since that moment it has been encouraging and promoting leadership among future wildlife management professionals through various means of financial support.
Its mission is to ensure the future of elk, other wildlife and their habitat, so they want to award a person who will prove his/her dedication to wildlife conservation and scholastic achievements.

What the winner of this scholarship will get is a $3,000 award and a one-year membership to RMEF.
The award recipients will be announced by July.
Who's eligible?
Those interested in applying for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Wildlife Leadership Awards should meet the eligibility criteria.
The applicant must be an undergraduate in a wildlife-related natural resource program, in a four-year college/university in the United States or Canada;
He/she must have junior standing and at least one semester or two quarters remaining in their degree program;
He/she should be scheduled to be enrolled as a full-time student for the following fall semester/quarter.
If you happen to be the previous recipient of the Elk Foundation’s Wildlife Leadership Awards, you should not apply as you are ineligible.
How to Apply
You need to know that the application deadline is March 1st and your application must be postmarked no later than that moment.
The Application Process requires that the eligible applicant fill out the Scholarship Application Form and he/she should know that only typed applications will be accepted.
Then, he/she has to ask his/her Department Head/Chairperson to complete and sign their designated section.
Furthermore, two letters of recommendation from faculty have to be submitted with the application or it may be submitted separately from your application.

The RMEF Scholarship Committee will review each application and will make the final decisions.
