The Ross Skelton Memorial Scholarship was created so as to honor the life of Ross Skelton.

Ross was known as the Chief Commercial Officer at SPX FLOW in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he helped lead a global multi-industry manufacturing leader with approximately $2.5 billion in annual revenue.

Nowadays, this scholarship fund offers annual award amounts which range from $1,000 to $5,000.

Full Description

The typical award amount is $5,000.

However, in some cases, it may be reduced if the student has a lower amount of unmet financial need.

The great thing is that the scholarships may be renewable for up to three additional years of undergraduate study.

What interested applicants consider fantastic is that there are even five recipients annually, so the chances of getting the award are higher.

If you meet the following requirements for applying, you are highly suggested to submit your application and try your luck.

The foundation was established in 1993, and since that moment the Cancer for College has worked to provide hope and scholarship assistance to U.S. students who have been diagnosed with and battled cancer.

Who's eligible?

The Ross Skelton Memorial Scholarship is provided annually to engineering students in North or South Carolina who have battled with a diagnosis of cancer.

The eligible students are those who demonstrate a similar positive outlook, passion for engineering, and local ties to North or South Carolina as Ross Skeleton did.

There are eligibility requirements set by the scholarship committee so that not everyone can apply and to make the committee’s selection easier.

If you are a cancer survivor from or attending school in North or South Carolina, you should apply for the award,

The special consideration will be given to engineering students attending North Carolina State University and Auburn University.

The scholarship is open to any cancer survivor who is enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States and who is a resident of the United States.

However, the applicant must be an engineering major either from or attending school in the states of North or South Carolina.

How to Apply

The application materials that each eligible applicant must provide are his/her parent’s tax return, his/her father’s and mother’s individual return if they file separately and his/her personal tax return (if you do not file a tax return, you must upload proof of any income such as SSI, W-2, Snap Benefits or other written documentation).
