The SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund has the aim to support the automotive aftermarket industry leaders and innovators who are pursuing degrees through their higher education.
The fund is aware of the fact that education costs are quite high and that younger generations need financial assistance.
Full Description
The fund offers 50 awards of $5000 to the most deserving candidates.
Who's eligible?
Each interested candidate has to get familiar with the eligibility criteria when the scholarship application process is in question.
The applicants for the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund must be U.S. citizens enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university or technical/vocational school in the United States who have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
As this is a journalism scholarship, the applicants should pursue degrees leading to a career in journalism and must remain enrolled full-time once they receive the scholarship.
They should have 50 credit hours if they are enrolled in a four-year college or university or 25 credit hours if they are enrolled in a two-year community college or technical/vocational school.
Permanent legal residents and high school students are not eligible to apply so they should not waste their time submitting the application form.
How to Apply
The documentation that the applicant has to provide, once he/she determines his/her eligibility, is an unofficial transcript or technical training progress report and an online recommendation from your teacher, employer or mentor.
Throughout the application process, the candidate has to demonstrate a passion for the automotive industry in his/her answers to select questions and to write a statement in which he/she will speak about his/her best qualities in 500 words or less.
In order to write a good statement for this scholarship, candidates should answer the following questions:
- Why they want to pursue a career in the automotive industry and how they think they can contribute to this industry
- What drives and inspires them, and why they believe they should be awarded the scholarship.
Optionally, they can upload other additional materials if they think they might be useful for their application.
The application submission deadline is March 5th.
