The scholarship is available thanks to the University of the West which is accepting applications.
The Lotus Scholarship was established in 2012 and has so far been awarded to nearly 100 students.
The Lotus Scholarships are both available to new students entering the university, as well as to students seeking to renew their scholarships.
Full Description
The Scholarship award will be provided in two installments, the first in the Fall semester and the second in the Spring semester.
The funds will be applied directly to the student’s account.
The Scholarship is initially awarded for one academic year beginning in the Fall semester while the renewal of the Scholarship is possible, but not guaranteed, and whether it will be renewed or not depends on the student’s performance and funding availability.
Who's eligible?
The eligibility criteria depend on whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student.
The minimum GPA for Undergraduate students for the Lotus Gold Scholarship which is up to $10,000 is 3.0, while the Lotus Silver Scholarship which is up to $5,000 requires that the GPA is 2.75.
On the other hand, graduate students will have to have 3.25 for the Lotus Gold Scholarship and 3.0 for the Lotus Silver Scholarship.
Besides this, the Lotus Scholarship is awarded to students who achieve high academic standards and at the same time demonstrate a financial need in order to attend the University of the West (UWest).
How to Apply
The second thing that eligible applicants should have in mind is application procedure and required documents that the Lotus Scholarship Application must include.
You will have to submit a completed and signed UWest Financial Aid Application Form as well as a completed and signed UWest International Student Supplemental Application for Financial Aid if you are an international applicant;
Then, a copy of the Official Transcripts in English of the highest education attained or a copy of an official TOEFL or IELTS score report for international applicants is required.
Domestic students must submit a completed FAFSA or a copy of their most recent available tax return.
Make sure you have gathered all the mandatory documents and that they are all received prior to the deadline on April 1st.
