Media Fellows Scholarship is a special scholarship as it is not fully a need-based one and is awarded twice annually in August and in November.

These awards are designed to financially support students who are pursuing a degree in media-related majors.

Full Description

The Washington Media Scholars Foundation supports students seeking careers at the nexus of Advertising and Public Policy.

Who's eligible?

When the eligibility criteria is in question, we have to mention that only students currently enrolled in a college or university are eligible and highly encouraged to apply, A good thing to know is that rising freshman are ineligible for Media Fellows Scholarships.

The Washington Media Scholars Fellowship is one-time only award and previous recipients are not eligible to apply for it.

How to Apply

The eligible applicants would probably like to know how they can apply for this award and where they can get the application form.

The required documents, besides the application form in which you are supposed to provide personal and educational details, are a letter of recommendation which has to be signed and written by a person who is familiar with the applicant’s qualifications, your resume, and your essay, being that this is an essay-based scholarship.

Make sure that your essay is not copied from anywhere and do your best to make it perfect, as it will be the most significant part of your application and it will play the major role in determining the most deserving candidate.

The Media Fellows Scholarship  essay would be considered acceptable and competitive if it includes the student’s personal financial need statement as well as a description of their academic achievements and career aspirations.

Being that the scholarship provider’s aim is to support students whose academic interests are Advertising, Marketing, Communications, Business, Political Science, Strategic Media and other media-related majors, applicants’ essays should be based on experience and interest in these fields.

Finally, a brief phone interview is mandatory.

As it is awarded twice annually, it has two deadlines in mid-July and mid-November, so the interested students must pay attention to the application timeline and make sure they submit the required documents prior to that moment.
