The Women in Leadership Scholarship is provided by the Brown and Caldwell and the Society of Women Engineers.
They noticed the importance of supporting female students that are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession as a way of investing in the future of this profession.

If you happen to be the recipient, you should know that scholarship funds may only be used for university/college billed expenses such as tuition.
Who's eligible?
The eligibility criteria set by the Women in Leadership Scholarship committee are the following and make sure you meet it so as to be accepted as a possible scholarship winner.
You must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
You must be a full-time student enrolled in his/her Junior, Senior year or graduate program at an accredited college/university.
You need to have a declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences, such as geology, hydrogeology, ecology.
Your academic achievements have to be great with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale
Last, but not least, the applicant has to be a woman who demonstrates leadership within the community.
How to Apply
When the required documents are in question, all eligible candidates must submit the following, besides the completed application form:
- A resume.
- An essay of 250 words minimum, in which you will speak about a personal experience that influenced your decision to focus on environmental studies.
- Two written recommendations and one of them should be from a university official, such as an advisor or professor.
- An official transcript of your academic record.
All forms must be completed and submitted on or before the annual deadline, and it is very important to get familiar with the timeline as it is subject to change each year.
